Before founding Cashvyne, James served as VP of Finance and Treasury at two Chicago-area holding companies — one in food manufacturing with 11 subsidiaries, one in industrial distribution with 7. In both roles, the same problem persisted: there was no single source of truth for where cash actually was, and the process for producing one was entirely manual.

Every Monday morning, his team downloaded BAI2 files from 6 different bank portals, pasted them into a master workbook, ran the pivots, and had a consolidated position by 10 AM — if nothing had gone wrong with the download automation. The 13-week forecast was rebuilt from scratch using AR aging reports exported from NetSuite.

Enterprise TMS solutions — SAP TRM, ION Treasury, Kyriba — were designed for companies with dedicated treasury IT teams and six-figure implementation budgets. They were not built for a $150M holding company with a two-person treasury team and a staff controller who also does FP&A.

Cashvyne is built for that company. The one that has outgrown Excel but hasn't scaled to a full TMS. The one where the CFO is asking for cash visibility every week and the treasurer is spending 2 hours building a spreadsheet to provide it.
